Stimulus Check Scams
One scam fraudsters are using involves coronavirus stimulus checks. Several reports from the BBB (Better Business Bureau) Scam Tracker state fraudsters are attempting to contact individuals via text message or by phone calls to inform the individual that they qualified for a coronavirus stimulus payment. The fraudster may then ask for the individual to pay a processing fee to receive their check, or to provide their bank account number to direct deposit the money to their account.
