Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare's History
The conceptualization of Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare began in 1899 when a Mississippi farmer, John Sherard, saw a need for a Methodist hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. In 1911, John Sherard would become the founder of Methodist Hospital, donating the first $1,000 towards the establishment. More than a century later, Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare has evolved into a comprehensive healthcare system dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate, and innovative care to patients and their families.
